Author Information

Archaeologist, director of research at the CNRS (France), specialist in ancient Arabian societies, Michel Mouton has worked mainly on the Oman peninsula, the kingdoms of southern Arabia and the Nabataeans. He has led projects in the United Arab Emirates (1990-1999, 2010-2011), Yemen (1992-2006) and Jordan (2008-2011). He has held various management positions in French research institutes abroad (Ministry of Foreign Affairs / CNRS) in Syria (2000-2006), Saudi Arabia (2013-2015), Kuwait (2015-2017) and Lebanon (2017-2021).
