OverviewThis story presents a thoughtful look into the lives of itinerant musicians... men and women dedicated to their art even when there are countless hours spent behind the steering wheels, in the dull glow of the dashboard for every hour in the spotlights. We meet a young woman who is breaking up with her bluegrass band and especially the lead guitarist on the point when they are finally getting the attention of critics and booking agents. Bluegrass mandolinist Sienna Edwards has broken up with her boyfriend, lead guitarist Luke Daly, and her band. But first, she has to play one remaining gig with them at Melfest. While she is backstage waiting to perform, Sienna meets Scottish folk musician Duncan MacIntyre. They hit it off immediately, musically and romantically, until Luke tells Sienna that Duncan is married. Sienna agrees to accompany Duncan and his son Robbie on their tour of folk festivals in the U.S. and Canada. She finds herself falling in love with Duncan until he has to return home to Scotland. Luke convinces Sienna to return to her old band for a few last gigs, a decision that leads to a tragedy that changes her life forever.
