OverviewThis book is written to help end the stigma of post traumatic stress disorder. It is a guide that can be used to help end the stigma of people who survived traumatic experiences, whatever they may be, and who subsequently developed PTSD. This book is written after 30 years of suffering from the effects of trauma and severe PTSD myself and being able to finally move past it. It is meant for people who have experienced trauma and who have PTSD, but it is also for those who live and work with people who have PTSD. Trauma survivors need to be empowered and compassionately supported so they don't have to spend a lifetime suffering from the stigma and the effects of trauma. Compassion is the true healer of trauma. Customer Reviews 5.0 out of 5 stars Very Helpful! July 30 2015 By Sharon Peters Format: Kindle Edition This book has opened my eyes to the struggles that people with PTSD encounter and given me a level of understanding that I didn't really have prior to reading it. I would highly recommend this book for anyone who knows, lives with, works with or has experienced their own PTSD. The author has been able to shed light on the challenges facing those suffering from PTSD with compassion and insight, coming from her own personal experiences which makes the insight that much more significant. This is an intelligent, educational handbook that I can see becoming part of any training curriculum for anyone working with PTSD.
