OverviewExperience the effects Hurricane María on Puerto Rico in a story about Mía, a normal teenage girl until the storm hits turning her life upside down. This story is based upon a compilation of numerous stories I have read about peoples' experiences living though the storm and the aftermath that ensued. The novella takes your students through the storm, the aftermath, and a hope towards reconstruction though community efforts. The novella is written in the past and present tenses with mostly high frequency words and cognates for the intermediate student studying Spanish. If you are a teacher interested in this book for a class unit, there are activities and games for it on TpT.
