He obtained his PhD from the University of Twente, the Netherlands, in 2001. His current research interests include technology-enhanced learning environment, technology-supported blended synchronous learning, online learner engagement, and educational design research. In recent years, he has conducted research projects in the field of using technology to support teaching and learning, and teaches postgraduate students at National Institute of Education, Singapore. Dr Wang is actively involved in professional services, and is the editors-in-chief of the Journal of Research and Practice in Technology Enhanced Learning (RPTEL), the International Journal of Social Media and Interactive Learning Environments, and an associate editor of the International Journal of Continuing Engineering and Life-Long Learning. He also serves as an editorial board member and a reviewer for several international journals. To date, Dr Wang has published more than 100 academic papers and more than 50 articles are in SSCI-indexed journals.
