OverviewThe ODYSSEY methodology takes an unconventional approach to designing at Electronic System Level (ESL): it expands the traditional definition of the processor instruction-set and introduces a new class of processors whose instructions correspond to the methods of an object oriented class library. These new processors, called Object-Oriented Application-Specific Instruction Processor (OO-ASIP), provide a versatile vehicle to explore the synergy between hardware and software not only when implementing an OO application for the first time, but also more significantly, when expanding an existing product for additional functionality or customization. This book provides ESL researchers and practitioners with the theory behind this methodology, as well as the practice of implementing it in a design flow from C++ to FPGA board Full Product DetailsAuthor: Maziar Goudarzi , Shaahin HessabiPublisher: Nova Science Publishers Inc Imprint: Nova Science Publishers Inc Weight: 0.384kg ISBN: 9781613249970ISBN 10: 1613249977 Pages: 168 Publication Date: 23 April 2012 Audience: Professional and scholarly , Professional & Vocational Format: Hardback Publisher's Status: Unknown Availability: Awaiting stock ![]() Table of ContentsForeword; Introduction; Object-Orientation in VLSI Design; The ODYSSEY ESL Design Methodology; Architectures for The ODYSSEY OO-ASIP; A Practical Design Flow for The ODYSSEY; Conclusion & Future Work; References; Appendix A: Traffic-Light Controller OO-ASIP Synthesis; Appendix B: The Encoder/Decoder OO-ASIP Source Code; Index.ReviewsAuthor InformationTab Content 6Author Website:Countries AvailableAll regions |
