OverviewIn this lavishly illustrated manuscript, the famous Medieval Fencing Master, Hans Talhoffer, tells the story of one of his students, Squire Luthold of Konigsegg. Talhoffer describes Luthold's fencing training which culminates in Luthold having to prove himself in a court-ordered ordeal by battle. The manuscript's owner is the Wuerttembergian noble house Konigsegg-Aulendorf, who make this codex accessible to the public for the first time, in the shape of a facsimile edition. A commentary accompanying the facsimile volume contains the transliteration and translation of the text, a glossary, and a section on history and biographies of the Late Medieval Fencing Masters and the noble house of Konigsegg. Facsimile and German-text commentary - two volumes in a decorative slipcase.
