Dr. Ludwig Vanino, geboren am 5. Oktober 1861, studierte Chemie an der Universität München. Später war er Professor am Chemischen Laboratorium der Bayrischen Akademie der Wissenschaften. Die Wichtigkeit des Stoffes Formaldehyd zu seiner Zeit veranlasste ihn in Zusammenarbeit mit Dr. E. Seitter das Buch ``Der Formaldehyd`` zu verfassen, welches das Ziel hat Chemikern, Ärzten, Apothekern und Technikern die Darstellung, Eigenschaften und Anwendung des Formaldehyds darzustellen. Dies ist ein sorgfältig überarbeiteter Nachdruck der Originalausgabe von 1901.
