OverviewFollowing on from an NAO report (HCP 288, session 2004-05; ISBN 0102932271) published in February 2005, the Committee's report examines the findings of a national survey of patient views about the quality of NHS cancer treatment services in England. Overall, patients were broadly positive about their experiences, although prostrate cancer patients and patients in London as a whole reported a worse experience than other cancer patients. The report draws a number of conclusions and recommendations in relation to the following issues: access to specialist care and diagnosis; the support offered to patients during and after treatment; and differences in patients' experiences.
