Space Rangers Xa'baar Ilaura and Haltrax Vuron, of the ice planet Deltrax, are tired of policing the universe. They've spent years roaming the stars searching for adventure. Now, near the end of their last prime, the Rangers are desperate to find a lover. Xa'baar swore he'd never sign up for an intergalactic mate. Haltrax is wary of expanding their union. On Tieqiu 9, indentured miner Victorio Chu is searching for an escape route. The only problem? Victorio Chu is a fugitive on the run. Marriage freed Victorio from indentured servitude on Tieqiu 9. But as the bounty on his head resurfaces, Victorio has to make a choice-flee or fight? When Victorio discovers his bond-brother Nova has been kidnapped, and he's been knocked up by his husbands, he has no choice but to do both. Now on the run for a second time, Victorio depends on Xa'baar and Haltrax to protect him from his former master Tiger Chu. The triad calls upon fellow Space Ranger Barrtaruk the Fierce to join them as they try to track down Chu and save Nova.
