Author Information

Margaret J-M Sönmez received her PhD in Historical Linguistics from Durham University, and is currently an Assistant Professor at the Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey. She has published several articles in the fields of Early Modern historical sociolinguistics and seventeenth to twentieth century English literature. Winterson Narrating Time and Space, a Cambridge Scholars publication, was edited with Mine Özyurt Kılıç and released in 2009. Her most recent publications include ""Authenticity and Nonstandard Speech in Great Expectations"" in Victorian Literature and Culture (2014) and ""Place Identity and Detection in When We Were Orphans"" in Kazuo Ishiguro in a Global Context (edited by Cynthia F. Wong and Hülya Yıldız, 2015).
