Author Information

Jarred ""ESSP"" Taylor is a storyteller, producer, and former USAF Tactical Air Control Party (TACP) operator whose work blends modern military culture, aviation, and cinematic fiction into immersive worlds driven by authenticity and chaos in equal measure. A co-founder of Black Rifle Coffee Company, Taylor has spent years building media projects centered around veteran culture, combat storytelling, and unconventional characters drawn from real-life experience. His fiction work is heavily influenced by military aviation, special operations, and the personalities that exist behind the call signs. Taylor is the creator of the Deep Scythe / Wet Death universe - a modern military thriller series following Carrier Air Wing ZERO (CVW-0), a black-budget naval aviation unit built around experimental warfare, psychological operations, and a cast of dangerously capable pilots who rarely follow the handbook. The series combines high-intensity air combat, strategic realism, and dark humor with the cinematic pacing of classic military thrillers. Drawing inspiration from authors like Tom Clancy, Stephen Coonts, and Dale Brown, Taylor's stories aim to merge detailed operational realism with larger-than-life personalities and a distinctly modern voice shaped by internet culture, military brotherhood, and the evolving nature of warfare. Outside of writing, Taylor has worked across podcasts, documentaries, film production, and digital media, helping create content focused on military history, veteran experiences, and American culture. His projects frequently explore the intersection of technology, conflict, and the people tasked with operating at the edge of both. He lives in Texas and spends far too much time around aircraft, coffee, and fictional carrier strike groups that probably should not exist.
