Overview

Deep Hat is the story of a retired Mossad operative living out the early twilight of his life in New York's East Village, where he takes pleasure in cooking, betting on the horses, occasionally talking to his only friend there, a middle-aged Lithuanian princess, still an eyeful, and dreaming of someday catching the murderers of his family. Then, one summer day, his life is turned upside down by the appearance of two unrelated characters, and the pace of his life suddenly accelerates, tossing him around half of Europe like a hurricane in pursuit of his long-held dream while he discovers new, unexpected vistas. The main character, Harry, was praised in B. Netanyahu's memoirs as the best encapsulation of the Israeli spirit's invincibility.
