Decolonize Dallas 2017 was a series of events and exhibitions that activated historical memory through culture in four contested sites throughout the city of Dallas-Pleasant Grove, Vickery Meadow, Southern Dallas, and West Dallas. Decolonize Dallas focused on cultural producers and communities on the margins to reshape dominant narratives of identity and history in Dallas. Featured artists included: American Indian Heritage Day, Ash Studios, Tamitha Curiel, Dark Moon Poetry and Arts, Dom G Jones, Angela Faz, Mylan Nguyen, Brent Ozaeta, Trans.lation Vickery Meadow, Christian Vasquez, Taro Waggoner, Montoya Williams.
