His current research interests include the vegetation ecology of tropical and subtropical forests, the impacts of community-based management activities on forested ecosystems, and conservation of forests by rural communities. Ganesh P. Shivakoti is Adjunct Professor of Agricultural and Natural Resources Economics, Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok, and Visiting Professor, Arizona State University, US.
