Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationPaul Warren Murphey is a retired college professor; also a retired Navy Chaplain. He received his Ph.D. from Vanderbilt University. His dissertation title was The Concept of Death in the Theology of Nicholas Berdyaev, Paul Tillich, and Helmut Thielicke. He also has a BA from Texas Christian University, M.Div from Vanderbilt Divinity School, MSLS from University of Kentucky, M.B.A. from City University of Seattle. While a student at Vanderbilt he worked as Assistant Librarian of the Religion Section of the Joint Universities Library. In addition to teaching courses in Philosophy and Religion he also taught Interdisciplinary Studies and Bibliography of the Humanities. He was College Chaplain and Assistant Professor of History at Eureka College, Illinois before becoming Professor of Religion at Transylvania University, Lexington, KY. He moved from college teaching to service as an active duty Chaplain in the U.S. Navy from which he retired. After retirement he continued teaching as an Adjunct Professor for several institutions.
