Gail D. Zona is an independent researcher living in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. A native of Lansing, Michigan, she holds a degree in liberal arts and Tudor-Stuart history from Shimer College in Illinois. In her past life, she was a medical editor and communications professional who lived abroad for six years in the United Kingdom and the Middle East. When not engaged in genealogical research, she studies coverture, women's history, and 19th century American cultural history. Her projected second book will examine the patent medicines of Dr. Eugene Robertson, who practiced medicine in Lansing, Michigan.
