Overview

A young Irishman and his mother and sister flee to Australia from 'the troubles' in Ireland following the deaths of his father and elder brother at the hands of the British Special Forces. He obtains employment with a British owned bank, and is headed for a successful career until the branch to which he is attached is robbed. All staff at the branch are under suspicion as appearances indicate the robbery is an 'inside' job. The heaviest suspicion falls upon the Irishman, but he is innocent of any wrongdoing. Nothing can be proved, but the bank wrongly sees him as implicated in some way, and further career advancement is withheld. He resigns, and wreaks a terrible vengeance on his former employer. His activities remain undetected, and in time, he leaves Australia and moves to the USA. Here, he establishes himself as a brilliant insurance consultant, however he runs afoul of the IRA which he has supported all of his life. They threaten him, and he makes several efforts to elude their clutches, over the course of which several people die. His close liaison with one of his female employees ends in a shocking revelation, and results in a new relationship with a woman who tries to help and protect him. Both women join up finally in an endeavour to assist him to escape both the IRA and the police, the results of which draw down to a spine chilling conclusion.
