Overview

"""Keeping the peace in a West Texas town like Buffalo Peak should be easy for a legendary frontiersman like Marshal Elwood """"Firestick"""" McQueen. He's got his longtime buddies """"Beartooth"""" Skinner and """"Moosejaw"""" Hendricks as his deputies--not to mention the famous rifle that earned him his nickname. But when Firestick learns that their ornery old friend ""Rip"" Ripley just rode into town, all bets are off. It's darn near impossible to keep the peace when Rip's specialty is disturbing it. Firestick finds a decade-old wanted poster for Rip--the reward is one dollar. Firestick uses it to toss Rip into the clink till he decides to leave town. But Ripley's still up to his old tricks--he has a new gang of cutthroats coming to Buffalo Peak to steal a king's ransom in gold in the town bank. Firestick, Beartooth, and Moosejaw become pawns in what just might be the heist of the century. Because Rip's kill-crazy pals will have to bust him out of jail first.Performed by James Konicek, Kay Eluvian, Michael Glenn, Chris Davenport, KenYatta Rogers, Mike Carnes, Christopher Williams, David Jourdan, John Kielty, James J. Johnson, Marni Penning, Terence Aselford, Rob McFayden, Wyn Delano, Karen Novack, David Cui Cui, Rayner Gabriel, Gabriel Michael, MJ Casey, Bradley Smith, Eric Messner, Yenii Anne, Earl Fisher, Rob Moreira, Richard Rohan, Torian Brackett, Laura C. Author Information

William Wallace Johnstone (1938-2004), born in southern Missouri, was a prolific American author, mostly of Western, horror, and survivalist novels. He began writing in 1970 but had his first novel, The Devil's Kiss, published in 1979. After his death, it was announced that a carefully selected author had been chosen to carry on his legacy. J. A. Johnstone is continuing William W. Johnstone's series. J. A. Johnstone is an author who cowrote numerous novels with William W. Johnstone, a prolific author of Western, horror, and survivalist novels. After William W. Johnstone's death in 2004, J. A. Johnstone was chosen to carry on his legacy. Marni Penning co-founded Fahrenheit Theatre Company in Cincinnati, Ohio, which was renamed the Cincinnati Shakespeare Company in 2006. While she also performs in contemporary plays and comedies, her stage career has included more than fifty productions of Shakespeare's plays. Michael Glenn has been a Washington D.C.-based performer for the past two decades and has appeared in dozens of award-winning theatrical productions in the area, including many world premiers like Ken Ludwig's Baskerville and Photograph 51. In the world of audio books, Michael has been a frequent collaborator with Graphic Audio, where he has played literally thousands of cowboys, wizards, mutants and more (including Curran in their Kate Daniels adaptations) in full-cast audiobook serials. A transplant from southern Minnesota, Michael now lives in suburban Maryland with his deeply adored wife, teenaged son, and rambunctious pound puppy. Ever since he was a child, Mike Carnes has loved to entertain. Whether telling stories or acting out zany Monty Python sketches, his passion was making others laugh, and his dream was to be the voice of a cartoon character. After twenty years in the IT industry, Mike decided to pursue his dream, and is now a full-time audiobook narrator and voice-over artist from his home studio in Omaha, doing what he loves: telling stories and entertaining others. He still, however, does not like spam! (Cue singing Vikings.)
