He served as the vice-chancellor of the University of Hyderabad during 2011–2015. Professor Ramaswamy’s research interests are in nonlinear science and systems and computational biology, and over the past decade, also in Kosambi’s life and works. He has edited a book of essays by D. D. Kosambi, Adventures Into the Unknown (Three Essays Collective, Gurgaon) that appeared earlier this year.
