Overview

"We follow the aftermath of Megiddo's actions in the previous novel; with the penultimate ""transformation"" at hand, Megiddo is now prepared to call out his Mentor to confront the many failures the young One perceives he has suffered due to the lack of knowledge and acknowledgement. The two have a tense, yet neutral, conversation - until Megiddo admits the schemes and ""Designs"" he has been formulating throughout the Years. We are provided with insight into his character - through flashbacks of memories and traveling through Time in Megiddo's imagination. At the end of the journey, the Longspear offers Megiddo a choice that the ""youth's"" brothers and father were not afforded - to adapt and accept his circumstances... or to fight against them. Out of a sense of spite (or vengeance), Megiddo surprises every One with opting for the Unexpected."
