Author InformationAshley Hicks was born in London in 1963. After Stowe School, he studied fine art at Bath Academy of Arts, before training as an architect at London's Architectural Association. He was an architect in London before concentrating on interior and furniture design. In 1990, Ashley married Allegra Tondato and they now design interiors for private clients in the UK and abroad. Recent commissions include private houses in London and Geneva, creating a study/dressing room for Jeremy Irons and decorating the Pavillion Anglais at the prestigious Biennale de la Decoration in Paris. Ashley Hicks is currently working on a new collection of David Hick's carpets, drawing on his influential geometric designs. Another book Ashley and Allegra Hicks: Design Alchemy is to be published by Conran Octopus, with a foreword by Jeremy Irons who describes it as a testament to an obsession with design and decoration.
