Gabriella Saab graduated from Mississippi State University with a bachelor of business administration in marketing and now lives in her hometown of Mobile, Alabama, where she works as a barre instructor. While researching The Last Checkmate, she traveled to Warsaw and Auschwitz to dig deeper into the setting and the experiences of those who lived there. The Last Checkmate is her first novel. Yelena Shmulenson is an actress and Earphones Award-winning audiobook narrator. She emigrated to the United States with her family in 1993 from Ukraine. Her theater credits include five seasons with the Folksbiene, two seasons at the Ellis Island Theatre, Enemies: A Love Story in Russian, and The Essence: A Yiddish Theater Dim Sum. On film, she can be seen in The Good Shepherd, Romeo & Juliet in Yiddish, Fire at the Triangle, and A Serious Man. Jennifer Jill Araya has been listening to audiobooks since she was a young child, so the fact that she gets to narrate them for a living is a dream come true. Trained as an opera singer and an orchestral cellist, she uses that experience to bring musicality and a depth of understanding to the recording booth. When not narrating, she can be found biking, running, hiking, or exploring with her husband in her home town of Cincinnati, Ohio.
