Overview

Originally written in French, this work of philosophy is broken into three parts. The first is an attempt to understand the origin of Dasein's philosophical ideas, inspired by Plato's Allegory of the Cave, with the goal of personal Re-Education in mind. The second part consists of a hermeneutic interpretation of Heidegger's Being and Time. The goal being to render this labyrinth of phenomenology and of existentialism as accessible as possible to the non-philosopher. Finally, the last part consists of Dasein's new thought, now influenced by the Being and Time Project and a visit to the Eastern World.

Author Information

Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, P. Hilario started studying philosophy in French in 2010. After finishing an undergrad in sciences in 2015, he moved to Quebec to teach English. However, before he had left, his philosophy professor, Antoine Cantin-Brault had advised to him continue his philosophical studies. P. Hilario would then spend every Sunday for the rest of his stay in Quebec pursuing his research in Phenomenology and Existentialism, thus taking on the alias of Dasein the Philosopher.
