This investigation studies the participle in the Hebrew manuscripts from the Judaean Desert, its formation, its usage, and its meaning, compared with those in other Hebrew traditions and dialects, especially the language of the Hebrew Bible. Gregor Geiger, Ph.D (2010) in Philosophy, Hebrew University Jerusalem, is Professor adiunctus for Semitic languages at the Studium Biblicum Franciscanum in Jerusalem. He has published several articles on Hebrew linguistics including the publication of a Dead Sea manuscript (Mur 174).
