Overview

The Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS) is a group of inherited connective tissue disorders with 10 recognized types. The clinical signs vary widely based on which type of EDS the patient has, the major signs and symptoms include increased elasticity of the skin, loose and unstable joints that are prone to hyperextension and fragile blood vessels and tissue. Because there is no causal therapy, comprehensive medical consultation, as well as clinical diagnosis and appropriate treatment of the disease play important roles. This book is intended to serve as a practical guide containing useful information for physicians.
