OverviewThe story was inspired by an interview with a mother who lost her young son in the same way as Elín, who is the main character of the book. The woman's young son had the intention of going shopping alone to the store next door and buying a small amount of something. Living in Paris, his mother was hesitant to allow such a thing. He kept asking, and eventually she agreed. She never saw her son again. After losing him, she claimed that she couldn't continue with her life and left everything behind. We follow Elín, who reacts similarly, and her daughter, Katrín, in her search for her mother. The plot, which focuses on love, loss, and friendship, is thrilling and keeps the reader in suspense until the end. The Icelandic version of the story was published in Iceland in 2020.
