Dark Souls and Black Powder

Overview

Strange goings on at an isolated town in Nevada and a mysterious phone call from the FBI, prompt the local sheriff to suddenly quit his job and abandon his post, leaving his sole remaining member of staff, Lisa MacDonald to take over the running of the sheriff's office - a young woman with no real experience of police work and who has never handled a gun in her life... Soon, a terrifying series of events cause Lisa to suspect that all is not well in Red Town and that maybe the sheriff was right to make a run for it while there was still time. But Lisa feels she can't leave even if she wanted to. Red Town is where she was born and the only place she knows, besides which, the town has now been evacuated of people by the military who have given Lisa strict instructions to remain and defend the place with whatever support she can muster from those members of the population who have volunteered to stay on and fight. But what precisely is the threat to Red Town and who exactly is the mysterious English woman called Sterling who is rumoured to be on her way to the town for a final showdown with someone the superstitious locals refer to simply as the Raggity Man? With all of this going on, plus the imminent arrival of a homicidal biker gang thought to be responsible for the murder of two police officers, Lisa really needs to get a grip on the situation and assert her authority... But just who can she trust and how can she survive?
