Table of ContentsReviewsThe writing in this book is not just about a kind of cultural analysis; it is literary, artistic, poetic; it presents an extraordinary model of post-positivist medium and method. It is an excellent choice for social science research courses, encouraging students to experiment with both form and content. Books about qualitative research are typically quite tedious. They spend an inordinate amount of time justifying their existence, usually in positivist terms. This book talks the talk and walks the walk. Even when presenting its theoretical framework, its author's use of language is sparkling, even dazzling. The array of verbs, nouns and adjectives in the first, introductory chapter is quite delightful. I could not have imagined there were so many different ways to describe and define this kind of research, to deconstruct and, simultaneously, to reconstruct its meanings and metaphors. (Kathleen Casey, University of North Carolina, Greensboro) Author InformationThe Editors: Nicholas B. Paley teaches courses in curriculum and education at George Washington University.
