Dare to Dream

Overview

Originally written as a love poem, Dare to Dream is a vitalizing collection of mantras with electrifying paintings crafted to inspire your expansion of creativity. This book is designed to inspirit your imagination, and delivers a message of courage in embodying radical hope. Why do we always have to think outside or inside the box? What if we could think in more possible worlds than one? What if the box could stretch? *20% of proceeds for Dare to Dream go towards Hope For The Day, a Chicago-based non-profit organization that focuses on suicide prevention by providing outreach and mental health education through the use of music and art.

Author Information

Passionate about understanding the complex composition of many languages spoken and signed, Haylie studied Applied Linguistics at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Her favorite research projects have been in Linguistics and Psychology, and her first publication was her abstract, ""Psychological Influences That Affect Prenatal Nutrition Behavior,"" which was published in the Building Bridges 2018: Selected Abstracts of the 2018 HTCC Honors Conference, from her presentation given at the University of California, Irvine (UCI). Her favorite part about writing children's literature is collaborating with artists from around the world to bring new ideas to life. Her goal is to craft literary works that recognize we are developing entities, so that as a society, we can create more inclusion through empathy, diversity in perspectives, and wisdom by embodying radical hope. To learn more about her story and the inspiration behind this book, please visit artistschoosinglife.com. Jorge Trejos Castro is an artist from San José, Costa Rica. His career started as a graphic designer, and has evolved as an artist and photographer.Creating art that conveys his message, he filled a creative emptiness, the need to permeate the world with vibrancy and colours. He now paints emotions, good and bad, as well as his own experiences and the one's from others too. Painting loudly, his bright-coloured life speaks for those who are afraid. The strokes on his paintings are meant to be alive. They are meant to be felt, to comfort the afflicted and make company to lonely ones. His goal is to create meaningful art, that people can relate to and feel almost a conversation with his paintings.
