Overview

The Darbin Rangers is a series of novels beginning with the creation of the at the time science fiction books which merge into a future halo series about the rangers and their many adventures. The author in the novels creates such a popular series that the actual imperial fleet then actually creates the rangers and an actual group to increase their recruiting. The group that is created is actually created by a secret inner society within the empire looking for a place to put the single most important person in the entire empire. The new young emperor himself. The story begins with the death of the emperor and his mate. Then how do they hide his son. Where do they put him. They form the rangers for just that purpose. The object of the rangers is to surround and protect the new emperor without letting anyone know he is the emperor. They put him in a place where no one ever goes. A place no one wants to go. The Kestrel swamp. A huge wildlife preserves on the planet Keir where a small froglike creature which much like bees is a major pollinator that the farmers prize for keeping the insects at bay while pollinating their crops. As the rangers are settling in with the new emperor a teenager acting as a dish washer and roust about who they have allowed full access to the main fleet junk yard where Cort sets out to build himself a hot rod with everything there. The enemy then surprises everyone buy attacking Keir. The Darbin rangers take on the enemy and Cort takes on the enemy with his very modified riot control vehicle he put together in the junk yard. And thus is born the Darbin Rangers.
