A Classics graduate, Kate has directed an adaptation of The Aeneid with Fiona Shaw, and directed a drama for BBC Radio 3 entirely in Latin, which was praised for its boldness on the leader page of The Times. She's currently working on a new drama series about the 1st century Roman letter writer, Pliny the Younger. In 2005 Kate became the head of Radio Drama at BBC Wales, the home of Doctor Who, and collaborated with the television department to make three Torchwood Radio Dramas with the original cast. Kate has also produced several previous dramas based on real people including Frank Zappa and Me, about Zappa's relationship with his English secretary, Well, He Would, Wouldn't He? about Mandy Rice Davies' part in the Profumo scandal, The Real George Orwell, a biographical series about the famous British writer, and Bodies in Motion and At Rest, an adaptation of the essays and poetry of Michigan Undertaker/Poet Thomas Lynch.
