Everything was so well and aptly named, put together, and scenic, from the names of places and people to the gadgetry. This is a book that brings all a reader's senses to life! It is a read you can completely immerse yourself in. I am a new fan of K.M. Krenik. It glosses over sensitive material while fully exposing it without going into lewd detail. Genius! The same can be said for the expletives! Having the swearing relegated to symbols was very much appreciated. In the world where I choose to immerse myself, swearing has no place, is entirely unnecessary, and lends itself to a lack of intelligence and immorality. Finally, a book that is a page-turner, like a James Patterson book, yet edgy and moody enough to find traits suited to some of Dean Koontz's works, yet in a lane that removes itself from their typical over-reach of vulgar and crude material which makes their books unpalatable to me. 'Danger Lies Within' is a true triumph!"" I could easily see this book turned into a television series or a movie. It has robust characters, a large cast, but not so big as to cause confusion, and nonstop action. Good versus evil on a grand scale, much like today's world, and simultaneously intimate and personal. This book tells of things to come in a way that makes it believable because it is all too real. The short excerpt from book two, found at the end of book one, definitely leaves the reader wanting more. (Now, I'll be left to fret and worry until I have book two in my hands-gah!)"" -Jennie Louwes (Reedsy Reviewer) ""Krenik kicks off the Ranfurly Mysteries series with a genre-blending thriller that defies expectations. In the summer of 2226, Courtney Drake receives a letter from the dreaded government, PAX, telling her that her husband, Keith, has been executed. Devastated, Courtney and her two college-age children, Nick and Laurel, must persevere. Not far away, Lord Robert Ranfurly is faced with a lesser crisis: the departure of the latest nanny to his five-year-old twins. Courtney answers the Ranfurly ad and is selected for the job, but on her first day the gardener is murdered. Soon she is thrown into a vortex of action and intrigue, all complicated by her simultaneous attraction for both Lord Ranfurly and his driver, Sean Knight. Climactic revelations satisfyingly pay off the clues that Krenik plants with deft sleight-of-hand, and the mysterious backstory of Lord Ranfurly is neatly woven into the action without any damage to the pacing and anticipation. This is a good start to the series and the strong, sensuous Lord Ranfurly, him of the golden heart, is sure to earn some diehard fans."" - Booklife ""...a disarmingly good read from an exciting voice in dystopian sci-fi, unveiling a uniquely original world that will appeal equally to readers of science fiction, fantasy, and thriller fiction."" -Self-Publishing Review ""K.M. Krenik's book is a captivating page-turner filled with surprising twists, dynamic characters, and a world brimming with intrigue and mystery. The story is fast-paced, blending charm, humor, and complexity, while offering thought-provoking insights into real-world issues."" - John Spender (Amazon Verified Review) Author InformationKim found her interest in writing at the young age of nine, when she penned her first stories on three-holed, blue-lined paper. Those handwritten pages, telling of the fictional kingdom called ""Anasteria,"" have been long-lost and forgotten, but the seed was planted and would germinate for some time. She became involved in the world of music and acting, and dabbled in writing scripts and directing plays. When she isn't writing, Kim is spending time with her husband, Rob, and her four grown children. They live in the PNW where they enjoy drinking world-class coffee, hugging trees, looking for fairies, and riding dragons. Tab Content 6Author Website:Countries AvailableAll regions |
