Author Information

Laura Kate Smith is an 11-year-old co-author, artist, and animal lover. She enjoys gymnastics, Stranger Things, and creating stylish makeup looks. Diagnosed with autism at age 10, Laura Kate hopes to help other kids understand what it feels like to be different-and to feel proud of who they are. Dancing Through My Day, In My Own Way is her first book. Katharine Smith is a self-published author, autistic adult, and mother of three. She is passionate about writing inclusive, emotionally honest stories that reflect the experiences of neurodivergent children and families. Diagnosed later in life, Katharine brings lived experience, compassion, and clarity to her storytelling. She lives in Shreveport, Louisiana, where she writes and creates alongside her family.
