Author Information

John Lyons was born in Trinidad. He came to the UK many years ago. He has established a reputation as a fine poet, a successful artist and an imaginative cook. He is the author of six earlier collections of poetry, including Lure of the Cascadura (1989), Behind the Carnival (1994) and Voices from a Silk Cotton Tree (2002) and a cookery book Cook-up in a Trini Kitchen.His poems were included in A Caribbean Dozen ( 1996); The New British Poetry 1968-88 (1988). He has given many readings, including at national and international festivals. 14 radio broadcasts since 1987 (BBC Radio 4, RTE Dublin). 8 TV appearances since 1989 (BBC, Granada).
