He has authored 27 books, numerous articles and papers on a variety of issues, especially caste, class and peoples’ democratic struggles in contemporary India. He has lectured extensively in Indian and foreign universities. A regular commentator in leading English newspapers and magazines, he wrote a monthly column entitled ‘Margin Speak’ in the Economic and Political Weekly.
