Overview

The true story of Helen Jayne, a foster carer who fought to adopt the child she initially took into her family for short-term fostering. What was planned as a short-termed placement soon became longer and inevitably the family became attached to the child, Dale, and he to them. But as far as the local authority was concerned, it was out of the question for Helen to adopt Dale, as they already had an adoption plan worked out for him. Helen, however, was determined to persevere in what she believed to be in Dale's best interest.
