Overview“Daily Wisdom-Light” is drawn from thousands of the author’s poems and aphorisms. In just a few deft, gentle lines, Sri Chinmoy —one of the pre-eminent spiritual teachers of our time— conveys a message that feels both simple and profound: wise yet ordinary, original yet unexpectedly fresh. Each piece is meant to fill our hearts, drop by drop, with inspiration, joy, wisdom, and peace. Like the comforting words of a friend, a ray of light in the darkness, and the inspiring beauty of nature, these pearls of wisdom from Sri Chinmoy can encourage us, inspire us, guide us, and illumine us as we face each day in our life's journey. With its pocket-sized format you can keep the book close at hand and return to it anytime, anywhere—for a small, perfectly “allowed” boost of warmth and insight. Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationSri Chinmoy was a spiritual leader, author, artist, musician, athlete and peace visionary. Throughout his endless endeavors Sri Chinmoy sought to encourage all humanity to transcend boundaries and find a path to inner peace. He was born in the small village of Shakpura in East Bengal, India (now Bangladesh) in 1931. At the age of twelve he entered into the Sri Aurobindo Ashram, a spiritual community in South India. His ashram life was that of intense meditation, sometimes meditating up to fourteen hours a day. He also found time for writing, composing, athletics and service to his community. It was here that Sri Chinmoy achieved a high state of spiritual awakening. In 1964, following an inner calling, Sri Chinmoy moved to the West making New York City his home until his passing in 2007. In America, Sri Chinmoy immediately launched into a life of selfless-service to the world family. He led twice weekly Peace Meditations at the United Nations for over thirty years. He offered hundreds of free Peace Concerts worldwide, finding that music was a powerful way to share a deep experience of meditation.
