Shostak is a professor of sociology at Drexel University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (1967 to date). He previously taught at the Wharton School of Finance and Commerce, University of Pennsylvania (1961-67). Shostak is also an adjunct sociologist on the faculty of the National Labor Relations College at the AFL-CIO George Meany Center for Labor Studies, Silver Springs, Maryland (1975 to date). In 1998 he was appointed Director of the Drexel Center for Employment Futures (DCEFTM), a university-based think tank devoted to exploring frontiers in tomorrow's world of work.
