It all started rather nonchalantly as one person after another entertained a group of us at a horse show with hysterical tales of days gone by. We held our sides, wiped tears from our eyes and thoroughly enjoyed laughing at those antics, some innocent and some mischievously planned. We forgot about the electricity bill that needed paying, the installment notes coming due and the rising cost of living. Instead, we laughed. There is a great value in a laugh. Only a person that finds laughter in everyday life, especially at himself, is happy. If it is allowed to do so, laughter acts like a shock absorber to the realities of the day, making us all a little bit more humble and quite a bit more enjoyable to live with! Neither is laughter a one-size-fits-all commodity, but rather a value that comes in all sizes. There is the quiet smile, the short chuckle, the longer giggle, the friendly laugh and the knee-slapping belly roar. In fact, laughter is said to be better than any prescription drug for what ails you and the best medicine of all is the ability to laugh at one's self. It is good to laugh.
