Curse of the River

Overview

In medieval Kashgar, some rivers carry you toward your destiny. Others simply drag you under. Prince Atul, the Heir to Malla, should be dead. Saved by a potent elixir after his journey to restore Kashgar's throne took a lethal turn, he now breathes: but at a jagged price. A volatile new power has awakened within him, one that he cannot master and that has stripped him of the fighting skills he once relied upon. Now, on the storm-lashed shores of Kashgar, the mysterious voice that once guided him toward his destiny has fallen silent, replaced by a gnawing doubt. Why protect a girl shrouded in secrecy while a kingdom stands on the brink of collapse? Sugandha is the girl bound to a mystery she cannot solve. Fleeing an uncle whose pursuit is as relentless as it is unexplained, she carries a flickering magic that mirrors the wild currents of the river. She does not know what her uncle wants-only that her connection to the ancient waters has made her a target. She seeks the truth of her past, only to discover that knowledge brings no safety: it brings a target. Embarking on a quest for the truth, the pensive prince and the resilient girl are forced into an uneasy alliance. They clash at every turn while steering a boat through a land where mythical creatures hunt them from the shadows. In the mist of the Sunkosh River, as a prophecy awakens and even the protection of family comes at a bitter price, Atul and Sugandha must decide what they are willing to sacrifice for the truth. A curse has been set in motion, but its true cost is only beginning to unfold.
