Overview"These modern-day spiritual tales for adults teach some of the principles of the Kabbalah - the spiritual movement made popular by Madonna. ""His teaching is disturbing, profound and inspiring."" That's how a rabbi at Hebrew Union College described the Kabbalic writings of Mitchell Chefitz. Once a closely held secret of traditional Judaism, Kabbalah has gained newfound popularity in recent years thanks to celebrities like Madonna and Britney Spears. ""Curse of Blessings"" presents 10 tales of spiritual wisdom, grounded in the Kabbalah but providing universal insights. In the title story, an arrogant policeman is cursed to find something new to bless each day - or die at sundown. In ""The Kiss of Life"", an honest fortune-teller and a mysterious stone peddler embark on an otherworldly adventure. Chefitz' light, lyrical touch gives a contemporary flair to the ancient tradition of teaching stories."
