Overview

CROSS-CURRENTS is a multinational project in literary translation. This volume, CURENTE LA RASCRUCE 3, features the work of both both English and Romanian poets, presented face to face with their translations. It is a collaboration between a selected group of poets and students at the West University of Timisoara, Romania, and Mosaique Press. CROSS-CURRENTS este un proiect multinațional de traducere literară. Acest volum, CURENTE LA RASCRUCE 3, prezintă lucrările atât ale poeților englezi, cât și ale poeților români, prezentate față în față cu traducerile lor. John Eliot is a poet and critic who credits the encouragement of an anthology editor for setting him on the road to fulfilling an ambition to publish his writing, a favour he is keen to pass on through his work with Italian and Romanian universities on anthologies of translations. Eliot is now poetry editor for Mosaïque Press and co-editor of this series of books. He is a staunch European living in France. Eliza Claudia Filimon is an Associate Profesor of English at the English Department of the Faculty of Letters, Theology and History, at the West University of Timișoara, and a translator of English, Dutch and Spanish literature. Eliza coordinated the translation work of the team of student translators, as well as the online discussions between poets and students.
