When she was a little girl, Ms. Pilch carried as many books home from the library as possible. After growing up, and moving to Oregon, she still loved books, so she kept reading them. It was such fun that she started writing them, too. Ms. Pilch is a journalist. She created a local elementary newspaper program while her own children were in school.
