Overview

Cumbre is a communicative and grammatical course with three levels, designed for adults, university students and professionals. This title is suitable for levels: Beginners (Elemental), Intermediate (Medio) and Advanced (Superior). It includes selected and classified material (essentially authentic) according to functional criteria. It features a balance between activities to practise the four skills (speaking, reading, listening and writing) and consolidation mechanisms (repetition, grammar, and vocabulary). It also includes tasks or projects to stimulate students' creativity. It offers focus on Hispanic universality through texts, songs, maps, photographs, linguistic contrasts...The Student's Book is divided into 16 units, plus one review and self-assessment section every 4 units. The book includes at the back the listening activities' texts, a grammar section and a word list. It is a very popular course since 1995 when it was first introduced. The first level has its accompanying audio CD and for the other two levels there are cassettes.
