Reviews

This book is at its best in describing how the programmes developed, the way they functioned in relation to foreign policies, and how they were transformed over time. Aguilar does a fine job of sorting out the complicated bureaucratic and public-private relationships characteristic of cultural and informational diplomacy in both countries. (Frank Ninkovich, The International History Review)
