OverviewThousands of people came to the streets in towns around the island to protest food shortages, high prices, and communist control, in the largest mass rallies in Cuba in three decades. The protests occurred at a time when Cuba is experiencing its worst economic crisis since the fall of the Soviet Union, as well as increased repression of political opponents and a stressed health system during a critical stage of the pandemic. Nearly 7,000 new cases were reported, with 47 deaths - a new high for infections and deaths on the Caribbean island of slightly over 11 million people. SCROLL UP TO GRAB A COPY!
