Overview

Bjorn Havardr, a Viking warrior eager to prove his worth to the gods, is separated from his raiding party during an attack on Francia. Armed only with his ancestral axe and shield, he struggles to survive in the unfamiliar and hostile land. He resorts to raiding small villages for sustenance, a morally challenging experience that forces him to question his values. Constantly pursued by French soldiers and a terrifying, spectral wolf visible only to him, Bjorn endures numerous hardships and injuries. His life takes a turn when he is rescued and nursed back to health by a compassionate woman Sophie who provides him sanctuary. A bond forms between them, offering Bjorn a glimpse of a life beyond the violence he knows. The spectral wolf is eventually revealed to be a divine guide sent to lead Bjorn home. However, he is now torn between his former life and the new life he has found, and must decide whether to return to the battles he once craved or forge a different path with the woman who saved him
