Table of ContentsReviewsI really enjoyed this novel and that's high praise as I don't read historicals but these characters especially the women sprung off the page. I believed in them completely and I cared. The research about the engines was excellent. Very authentic. This is the second Jane Jackson novel I have read and I will read more. Very enjoyable. -- Della Galton - Author Amazon Review I LOVED this story and found myself so caught up in the lives of the four main characters that after trying unsuccessfully to put them out of my mind and get some sleep, in the end I simply had to sit up, switch on the light and read through to the end. The plot is well-constructed, and the characters beautifully drawn and believable. The author has a wonderful ear for dialogue and transports us effortlessly to 19th century Cornwall. The background is meticulously researched and detailed, but never allowed to weigh down the fast-moving storyline. I was genuinely moved in one or two places, so closely did I identify with Melanie and Bronnen. All in all, a cracking read which I highly recommend to anyone in search of quality historical romance. -- Jodi Taylor - Author Amazon Review Author InformationJane Jackson is an award-winning historical author who writes historical romances set in Cornwall during the period between the Napoleonic Wars and the Edwardian era.
