He has written over 20 books, including the recent ROAR-chestra! and Crocs in a Box. He taught primary school for 30 years, for which he won the Prime Minister's Award for Teaching Excellence. He lives in Vancouver BC with his wife and two cats. Rae Maté's first children's picture books, Crocodiles say... and Crocodiles Play! were published by Tradewind Books.
